9,000 mining jobs lost in October

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 9,000 jobs lost in mining in October, a statistic Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is likely to cite in the waning hours of the campaign.

“Mining lost 9,000 jobs in October, with most of the decline occurring in support activities for mining,” the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced in Friday’s jobs report. “Since May of this year, employment in mining has decreased by 17,000.”

Some have critiqued the Obama administration’s Environmental Protection Agency for their regulations on the coal industry, calling it a” war on coal.”

    Romney was 100% correct, 47% (I think 50+%) of the people would vote for obama regardless of what he did or said because they want their free goodies. obama used our money to buy the votes of the dumb lazy idiots on welfare. A trillion dollars for welfare for people who don't want to work. This also goes along with his plan to bankrupt the US.

  2. Well now, i wonder why we didn't know about this before the election, or perhaps we did and we (as a nation) were to stupid to understand. This was his plan all along, he said he would bankrupt coal power plants, and now he is! Nice work America, we will now get what we deserve
